Oxalis is a study of chiaroscuro. If the canvas is the primal surface of a painting, this work questions the surface of a photograph through the elements and materials of the medium.

Midge is an artist and photographer based in New York City. Her work is a dialogue between the history of painting and photography, exploring the structure and origin of images and memory. Based on her interests in art history, her photography is a form of preservation, a material to understand a historical or personal lineage.
